The CBX/Speed III was insane up close. Guy must have spend a year building it. The Deal's sign is me (in orange) and Darcy (customer and friend- like Ken but closer).

Yep. Only two seasons down there soon. 'Surface of the Sun' and 'Hell's fire'. Coming to a neighborhood near you.

True...but it beats "riding surface covered with water in solid state" for the most part!

It could be worse. You could be in LA with nice year round weather and also year round sniper fire.

Were the cops as bad as I read on various websites? I've heard NC State Troopers seem to have a mission to drive motorcycles out of their state...including losing one of the best bike museums in the country.

No. When you do the mid-week runs it's all pretty cool. We left my office at 0930 and were at Deal's Gap by 1200. We rode and screwed around on the mountain for about 3 hrs and rode home. At the north end by the state line the troppers were sitting by the dam just talking and wagging fingers at the guys going over 15 of the posted limit. Never saw a cop issue a ticket. At the foot of Deal's everything was slow motion like usual during mid-week. Most of the sportbike guys were waived thru by the HD riders. But the funniest part was the Cushman club. Had to be 30+ of those little guys. Some were absolutely awesome looking machines. Lots of investment.

I almost caught a chill!
