I guess what I really mean is, what do u get out of the bike u buy. To me sport bikes are designed for racing, which gives u one kind of experience, and cruisers are for driving, which is another. Im only focusing on these 2 kind of bikes right now. What do u get out of either or both kind of bikes and y did u choose it?

I got my XB9SX because I love old technology, and I love modern modern frame/suspension/brakes. It was a combination of both. My City X was the best handling street bike I ever rode, like a short tracker. Steep fork rake, short wheelbase. Even with all it's faults it was a keeper. I dream about backing it into a corner now and then, and it looked like nothing else on Earth. I miss it like I miss my legs.

I suppose I quit riding sport type bikes because I totally lack any semblance of self control. I would treat almost every ride like a race, Not stupid fast but each ride I would try to push a little harder, corner faster, accelerate quicker. Where I live are miles of country and mountain roads with not a lot of traffic, I can make a 50 mile loop and not go in a straight line for more than a 1/4 mile. I got in an accident through no fault of my own a few years ago that could easily been fatal yet I walked away ...limped actually.. but I was extremely lucky and other than chronic back pain from it I have recovered well. What has not recovered is my sense of invincability. I just chose to live life at a much slower pace these days yet I'd get on my bike and be railing corners and dragging knees. I went back to HD with the Dyna to have a bike I could relax on and once I started just noodling around it was just a more calming experiance. I got the bagger because touring bikes are the most practical for me, I got a Harley bagger because there's nothing like sitting there and floating along, big V twin purring away under you...like a magic carpet ride.
