I'd say 80% of the slip-ons look like crap; most of them to me like they've cobbled the standard unit just enough to fit. I wouldn't touch the BKing's pipes, they make the bike IMO.

I think its a pretty cool bike. The price tag, like the new Max though is a bit steep to take. Good to see the Japanese stick with Japanese type styling exercises like this and the FZ1 rather than just another American or Euro-clone.

You're right, the styling is excellent and uniquely Japanese. Apparently the BKing has better performance, including 1/4 mile and top speed, and better handling to boot. And it's $5,000 less MSRP! But if I were taking out a bike loan for a bike like this, I'd probably go for the StarMax. Of course, until I see one in person, I can't say for sure.

The B-King doesn't look as hideous in person as it does in a mag. I like it quite a bit. I once believed the original CBX wasn't that good looking after reading 24 pages about it in Cycle. Once I went and saw one in person I would have sold my soul to own it and almost had to!

I think the 2nd gen FZ1 is the most beautiful bike on the road but I 'll be checking this one out at the IMS this year.
