Default Marines focus on bike safety

Apparently the Marines are overdoing it once they return from combat. Nothing new I supppose.

It's a Big Deal, Buz!

The Navy (therefore, the Marines) Safety Office has gone 'whole hog' into Motorcycle safety for the Sailors and Marines. From what I understand, D0D has signed on, so the Army and Air Force are tight in there with the others.

There were far too many youngsters coming back from the Sandbox (If you ask me, it wasn't only them, it was all the CONUS kids, too.) taking themeselves out of the gene pool on bikes.

So, not only is the MSF course required, but now there is a requirement for a Sportbike course. I haven't seen what the D0D calls a 'sportbike', but Hey!, any training is good, right?

Hopefully this will save our brave young men and women from disaster. At least on a bike or in a car.

Amen. When I got out of the service in '71 I raised holy hell on bikes (and other ways) for a few years, but fortunately the most powerful bikes had 60hp and the handling was poor enough that you had to practice some restraint. I'm certain I would not have survived a 'Busa. I watched too many others eat it and eventually learned to survive in the comparative boredom of modern life in the USA.
