Bajaj is the company that was interested in buying up either Triumph or Ducati to increase their "presents" in the marketplace. They have some deep pockets.
BTW- the Honda relationship is close because, as I remember from an old article, Bajaj was assembling low cc Honda's through the 80's and 90's for the Indian and middle East markets.
