First dibs on the D16 went to owners of 1098Rs. Later D16s were simply sold on the open market, with the only necessary credentials being a lot of zeros in their bank account. In Mr. Ko's case, he has had a fairly close relationship with Ducati, as he was one of the investors in the ill-fated Dream Team Ducati AMA Superbike team from several years ago. He also currently lends a hand in Larry Pegram's Formula Xtreme effort with a Ducati 848. In short, he's the kind of guy we'd love to be if we had some extra money!
