Talking Black 'n Shiny........

Completed my latest horse-trading escapades yesterday and netted an '08 Electra Glide Standard in tasteful vivid black..I was looking at Road Glides but I love the classic look of the batwing and natural finish engine and to get right down to it, this one has all I need and no fluff.

Quick impressions of the triple disc Brembo's w/ABS is excellent, totally invisible untill you drop the anchor, then the bike basically glues itself to the pavement. Miles ahead of the last ABS equipped bike I owned.

The fly-by-wire throttle is also invisible, I honestly didn't notice any difference..maybe less cable drag but really if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't even notice. The EFI is also pretty seamless, turn the key, push the button and the bike starts, idles and runs with no problems, no carb. farts or backfires, no decernable lean spots or transition points just nice smooth engine control.

The exhaust is a little on the loud side for a stock bike, certainly sounds beefy enough and the 96 incher has more than enough grunt for hauling me around with the 6 speed acting like an OD...should save gas. The cruise control is neat, I imagine it would be cool on the open road. In urban settings obviously it's not going to get much use, seems to work though.

Nice bags with no more fiberglass stink like my last FLH, the usual excellent HD fit and finish, paint work and chrome, one of the nice things with this model is it's more polished aluminum than chrome which works for me. The only nits are personnal, the seat while comfy has me sitting to far forward and the mirrors ar to short. I solved that with a Visa card and HD's accessory tallboy seat which moves me back 2 inches and a set of long stem mirrors in optional vivid black. Other than that, it's a sweet ride and one I plan to get a lot of use out of Gods willin'......

Cool, I like the look of the Electra Glide better than the Road Glide. It’s more classic looking.

Start saving now for the V-Strom...

Way to go!

I would've recommended a Mustang seat over anything H-D has to offer. I also ditched the stock mirrors and put on the mirrors that attach directly to the fairing.

I recently bumped the fork oil from 10wt to 15wt and the front end is much better in the corners and on the brakes.

You're officially a Geezer!

Didn't think of the Mustangs or Corbins...for $230 the HD seat is a steal..

Now all you need is a Black Harley-Davidson Edition F-150 to haul it around...................

I dig the Corbin but your butt may not like it. Nice choice there. It's about time you started acting your age!

I've always had good luck with Corbins but like I said, $230 is a steal...

I even got two free HD tee shirts thrown in, that brings my HD tee shirt collection up to..um..3 !

Yes, that's all well and good, but what we really need to know (and I have alerted the media on this) is did you get the EZ-Leaker installed? And what color are your armchaps?
