It's all good. Takes all kinds to make the sport what it is.

We did. Wish he could have covered some of the other events, but I don't think he knew we had runs in all directions and everything else. 129 is pretty heavily patrolled right now, so most of us stayed off it for the most part and hit other roads.

Take care...

There's hardly a bad road between The Dragon and Asheville to the East, and Dahlonega, GA to the South. With Enforcement bein' what it is these days, I'd just as soon stay-away. I'm glad I got the chance to ride it "freely" before all the brough-ha-hah made the road "Infamous".

Beside that, there's a crapload O' roads in that area that really ARE way-better than 129..............

+1 My first ride to TWO and to Deal's Gap was in '82 on a '77 CB750K. Sure has changed up there.

You probably knew Frank at his "peak" then.

He'd mellowed a lot by the time I met him (but he still has some cuss'dness in 'im!) - Britt and GT are like a fav Aunt and Uncle, I felt so helpless here halfway-across the country when GT had his Stroke.

There's a story a friend of mine related about The Frank - he comes out one mornin', is seein' to the "breakfast crowd" and was goin' from campsite to campsite, gettin' a head-count. Goes to the first guy "You havin' breakfast?" guy answers yes. Second guy "You havin' breakfast?" he answers in affirmative. Third guy "You havin' breakfast?" "Well," sez the poor soul, "What's on the menu? I think waffles or pancakes would be...." about this time, Frank cuts him off and replies "I didn't bleepin' ask you for your bleepin' ORDER - I asked if you were bleepin' havin' BREAKFAST!!"
