Default HELP -- what kind of bike should I buy

I've been riding for about 5 years -- the entire time on a 1975 Honda CB360T. It was in the shop every 6 months or so (I'm not mechnically inclined and never learned how to maintain it myself), and is now out of commission.

I'm debating between essentially three options (1) a 1976 BMW R60/6 that I've never ridden, but that I've spoken at great length about with the bike shop in Ohio that's selling it; (2) go back to an old Honda CB; or (3) step up and buy a new Triumph.

My question is, how to pick? The guy selling the BMW sounds reputable, works only on old BMWs and I love that style bike. I just haven't learned to maintain and don't want the thing in the shop every 3-6 months. The old Hondas are great and the one I'm looking at is significantly less than the BMW and, of course, the brand new Triumph. The Triumph runs like a dream and would be the most maintenance free for some time.

What to do. What to do ...

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks

I'd get a Trumpet. BMW Airheads were reliable bikes for the time but you should expect problems with them. A friend of mine has two Airheads and they are always in need of something.

How about a nice used '84 Magna in purple? Also has some nice accessories, like a sissy bar, luggage rack and an e-z leaker. I throw in a can of Raid for the earwig problem for FREE!

Buy the Triumph! The Air-Head will be fun and if it's clean- will hold value, but as with any old bike you will need a bit of mechanical aptitude. They are not terribly technical, but things will need attention over the course of ownership.
