This scooter like I said above was Honda's worse execution ever , the carburetor was way under jetted , I presume to pass California's emission standards . This lead to the worst bog off the line I have ever experienced on a scooter or a motorcycle . The rider could very easily find himself stalling out in the middle of oncoming traffic (NO JOKE). The rear shock (mono) was so weak that it bottomed out on the slightest bumps . Due the weak shock on a hard lean the rear tire could easily lose it's grip , and drop the driver on the pavement (NO JOKE) The variator was plain and simple TRASH and some thing you might expect with a $599.00 Chinese scooter . 11/07/10 UPDATE Since writing this review I found fixes for all of Honda's short comings on this scooter . After doing all of the below my Big Ruckus now runs as one would expect from a 250cc scooter that ran $6,200 out the door . Adding only one quart of oil which is plenty , prevents blow back on to the air filter which led to poor combustion . Replace your air filter and change oil re-fill oil with only one quart . Re-jet carb . Replace stock variator with Jcosta . Replace rear shock with Bitubo . Where to buy below . For the re-jetting use a #45 pilot and a # 102 main . You can order them one at a time here Jets-R-us . Jets R Us Keihin slow jet size 45 (SKU-K36) Keihin main jet size 102 (SKU- KR 2 The Jcosta variator can be purchased here at corsportusa . http://www.corsportusa.com/store/cat...27e77262d5d6f2 You will buy the jcosta for the Honda Reflex/Jazz Update 6/13/2013 no longer available @corsportusa Now only at SIP Scooter Shop - Accessories and tuning | SIP-Scootershop.com Some accessories can be purchased here at the present time . 5/30/10 https://ssl.perfora.net/www.battlesc...dex.shopscript The Bitudo shock can be ordered here at SIP . Shock absorber BITUBO rear You will be buying the shock for the Honda Forsite 250 , the part number is Art.Nr. H0087WZE02 (you will need a longer bolt for the bottom clevis on the Bitubo . ( Needed bolt size M10-1.25-50MM ) These modifications led to a really great running scooter , unfortunately these mods will cost the owner another $600.00 just for the parts . But well worth the cost in my opinion . Last edited by TheReaper! : 06-13-2013 at 07:38 AM. Reason: update parts suppliers |
