Smile Need some advice!

I've been riding an 03 Suzuki SV650S for about 2 years now. I am thinking about stepping up to the new 08 Gixxer 750. Can anyone give me any suggestions, yes? no?
Thanks

Can you afford it? Are you a "stun'a"? Do you ride with, or without a helmet? In those two years, did you average more than 1500 mi/year? Is you is, or is you ain't my baby?

Have at it. Don't forget to sign up for track school.

I ride with full gear right now, have taken a couple courses, but not really sure if the power difference between the in line 4 and the 2 stroke would be that great? Need all the help I can get.

Not having-ridden the Gixxer 750, I can only relate what people have told me: the characteristics of power-delivery is still a bit like a 600 (comes on strong and sudden "up high"), but has substantially more low-to-midrange grunt, like the Gixxer-thou. One of my friends suggested it was similar to riding the late-model FZ1, but with "crisper" throttle-response (and of course, different seating).

It WILL be faster than the SV650. Prolly faster than the SV1K (in terms of "raw power" or accelleration.

That's the sum-total of everything I know about the Gixxer Se'en-fiddy.

Seems like your upgrading to a more track appropriate bike. If that's your thing, that's an excellent bike to do it on. But if you're more of a street rider, the gixxer's probably not going to be as comfortable as your SV for those 200 mile back road rides. Seems like Kawi makes a pretty comfortable 750, or you've got a number of 1000cc standards like the FZ1.
Forgot, the power difference will be pretty significant above 6K or so. Your SV is putting out 70hp, that gixxer will put out something around 110-120 hp at the wheel I'd guess.
