My face is red. I thought you'd posted a publicity shot for the new "Caveman" series as a goof. Sorry!

I'm beginning to think that longride might have the right idea. If you want a cruiser then just bite the bullet and get a knucklehead or a panhead. Why settle for anything less? They are all porky barges in the end. If you want to cruise then do it right. Nothing looks better than a well done knuckle or pan... maybe a shovelhead bobber.

A big group traveling at 55mph is a big group traveling at 55mph whether you have 61HP or 96HP. Ha! The last group I saw in the mountains was 10 under the 55 speed limit. 35BHP would have meet the needs.

As a third or fourth bike in the garage an old HD would be nice as a toy for neighborhood putts, but I have no interest in a toy right now. I also have no interest in gathering with a bunch of retards and riding at 45 mph in a poser procession. My interest is in riding, 50% of that long distance. Old iron isn't fun for that sort of thing, although I used to ride shovelheads long distance, one of them I had I put 73,000 miles on, never had to do anything but change the oil on it. Damn good bike, but it was seriously low on power when loaded going over mountain passes and stuff. Not to mention the engine vibration of old bikes on the freeway. Damn man, I just can't go back to that, it really was misery on wheels. Didn't know that until I got some newer better bikes. Hard to go back once you've experienced better machines.

If I had a dog that looked like him, I'd shave its ass and make it walk backwards.

I find it sad that the US can't compete with the Japanese bikes. For $7k less you can get a better bike. It's sad that the only reason HD can hang on is marketing, name etc.

Harley has made out dated bike for years people only bought them because of the out dated looks. Now we have more modern bikes that still look similar (star) yet are just as good and at a much better price.

How long will the harley sheep cling to their elitism?

At least buell tries to compete on the merits of it's motorcycles rather than it's brand name.

You know the one thought that keeps going through my mind as I wade through this drivel is, if you don't want a Harley, don't buy one...I was at the IMS in Seattle yesterday and took a look at the Yamaha out of morbid curiosity. Personaly I though it looked .........I can't think of a word...."incomplete" maybe...

However if that floats your boat then buy two in case one wears out, sh*t I don't care. Whats the point of moaning and groaning about a bike you have no intention of buying, if my Dyna got stolen tonight, I'd be looking at another one tomorrow. I don't give a tinkers dam* if the YamaStar is "better" to me it looks like the dogs breakfast and I wouldn't own one, if you don't like Harleys don't buy one. How hard is that?

Giggle, snicker.....No my bike is better than your bike and until everyone agrees that my opinion has more merit than anyone elses I'm gonna hold my breath....

You guys would all look funny on what I ride. And if you did ride what I ride then I wouldn't be the rugged individualist that I pretend to be and have to find something else. Damn outta cigarettes, carry on you're all doing fine. No really...

Default A Turn of Words

Check out you and longride, way back on the Star release, then the Raider, and now in this shoot out, you could cut and paste the same old **** you guys write. No content, just prejudice bullsh*t against Jap bikes. Now there's a consensus you guys are full of **** and pathetic. Boohooo, now you want it all to stop!! HAHA, you wouldn't get sh*t back if you didn't shovel it out so hard. Don't be crybabies, afterall you got Harley stickers all over your cars, house, clothes and even on your Harleys so no mistakes it for what, a Yamaha??

Below is another way to write it, it fits both ways. In the beginning on this thread I posted actual ride reports after having seat time on the bikes. What did it turn into, same ol b.s. from the same ol fools.

"You know the one thought that keeps going through my mind as I wade through this drivel is, if you don't want a YAMAHA, don't buy one...I was at the San Mateo Motorcycle Show in San Mateo a couple of weeks ago and took a look at the Harley Davidsons out of morbid curiosity. Personally I thought they looked .........I can't think of a word...."way over priced" maybe...

However if that floats your boat then buy two in case one wears out, sh*t I don't care. Whats the point of moaning and groaning about a bike you have no intention of buying, if my Yamaha got stolen tonight, I'd be looking at another one tomorrow. I don't give a tinkers dam* if the Hardly Ableson is "cooler", to me it runs like an old half dead dog and I wouldn't own one, if you don't like YAMAHAS don't buy one. How hard is that?"

Yea man, how hard is that?? Doh!

We haven't had a good "Harley Sucks!" thread in a while. In fact, I think this is the first one since the new site was launched.
