--Again, people do not understand marketing. It won't fail because it is a 250cc machine. It will fail because it is a $6000 250cc machine.

For the same price I can get Suzuki's 400cc supermoto, for $400 less the DR-Z400S for $650 cheaper the Kawasaki's KLR, or for $950 less the Suzuki DR650SE or for $1200 cheaper the KLX250S.

Don't blame the consumer when a poorly priced product won't sell.

Maybe Yammerhammer is encouraged by all the idiots who belly up and pay BMWs and Honda's ridiculous prices ($5.5K fer a 250cc scooter fer crissakes). No reason not to try it. Who knows. Maybe Yamaha has a bunch of sucker.... er I mean brand loyalists too.

The prices could have been reasoned with had the weight been kept more in the neighborhood of a WR250F. We all knew that wasn't going to happen though.

The other sad news is that the old trusty & lightweight XT/Serow will gain about 20lbs while at the same giving up it's trusty wide-ratio 6sp gearbox for a 5spd (boo... hiss). While the rear disc and another 25cc's is nice, weight gain and loss of usable gearing is not.
