Well, I finally stepped up and did it. After blathering about Yamaha RD400s forever, I finally won an eBay auction for one. She's a '79 Daytona Special. It's got cafe bars and wire wheels and a fresh engine. It's also been converted to electronic ignition.

The aftermarket expansion chamber with tiny silencers is sure to piss of the neigbors and Al Gore. I'll pick her up tomorrow.

Hell I can't hold a candle to George or Sarnali.

Current garage:

2003 Ultra Classic
2000 Duc ST4
1979 Yamaha RD400 Daytona Special (after I pick it up)

Funny thing is, the Yamaha seller is curious about ST4s. So, if he buys mine, that will free up more space for something else!

I was snooping around that forum. FL Steve is an old MO poster that pops up on that site quite a bit.

The yellow street tracker is sweet! The one I bought already has the wire wheels and the crazy right side expansion chambers. Perhaps I need to take off the Daytona tins and put on those cool street tracker pieces.

Oh hell, one trip around the neighborhood and someone's going to shoot me anyway!

Nice eye candy in the widow of the joint, however. Trick RD400's with extruded aluminum gold sunburst heads, chambers, etc.
