It wouldn't at all surprise me if a stock 695 outponied a stock 750. Plus you get a two-year warrantee with a new Duc and longer service intervals.

yes but the 750 would be how much cheaper? Eh, I'm not afraid of Duc's service intervals either, I'm buds with Ma's Cycles in West Fargo, ND.

Fargo?! That's not far from my old stompin' grounds in Winnipeg. If you're any kind of drinker, you've probably visited for its legal drinking age of 18, didn't you?

I've been to Winnepeg a few times, but not to drink. As much as I enjoy having a few now and then, I was able to get away with drinking before I was 21 just fine. ;-)

If you ever want a Northern correspondent...

My first Ducati

I bought my '07 Ducati Monster 695 last January to be sure to have this model in the color I wanted, (red). I love this bike but when friends ask me how I like the bike I always have to qualify that Ducatis' are different and some of the characteristics I had to get used to. This bike replaces a '96 Suzuki 600S Bandit as my sporting bike.
The first thing is the sensation of a "shudder" if you pick the revs to low. Even at 3000 or more rpm's if I grab too much throttle I can feel a shudder from the bike. I been told by the dealer this normal for all Ducatis' and to not grab too much throttle at low revs. So I know that on any bike if you grab too much throttle at low revs you will not be in the powerband but I have never experienced a bike protesting by exhibiting a shudder. I do experience surging in the mid range and have had some hiccups in hot weather which I attribute to the very lean mixture. My dealer tried to fatten up the ICU but it ran worse. Ducati has a remedy in the $1200 to $1400 performance kit but I hope someone out there has a more affordable fix. The bike does run too lean which I would expect to generate too much heat. Please respond if you have a solution. I found that all of the symptoms reported on are real to me and this bike. I still love it!
