Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20, at best, but it is worthy of note that while the rest of the 'contenders' in this 1996 shootout have long since fallen by the wayside, and/or drifted into oblivion, Mr. Max is still King of the Hot Rods, and after all these years without a major makeover...Simply AMAZING. Still #1 in my book, and the book is STILL selling... John@RMSportMax.com

Actually, the only bike of those that isn't made any more is the Honda. All the rest had the sense to make a better version of what they made then. The V-Max is a great engine in a bad motorcycle. Too bad they didn't fix all the problems is still has 20 years ago. The new Speed Triple and Monster make the Max look exactly like what it is, an old motorcycle with horrible handling, bad suspension, and terrible gas mileage.
