I read the article and well, like everything else that looks diff, to each it's own... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot am I talking about???
All three of those bikes look great... the Buell looks the best IMO. But I disagree in that you thought the 1st gen SV looked better... Maybe the frame did, that is arguable, but overall the 1st gen SV looked to be styled by the same artist that styled the TL & Busa. I have a name for that horrid styling, its called real life Bad Anime.
We own a 2006 SV650s (surprise, surprise) and I thought the frame & new styling was an improvement. The bike has tons of after market support and thus we looked at it as a good base to modify & the price was right. The engine is a bit anemic if you're into sport riding, but once you get going it's EZ to maintain momentum through the bends... of coarse the suspension does need tweaking, fortunately GSXR & 636 shocks are plentiful and a nice bolt on upgrade. The forks need to be reworked, but it's not too expensive to have done.
I find the Ducati a bit on the expensive side for what you get. And the Buell is prob worth its asking price but it should have a smaller version of the V-Rod mill.
