Three wheels are not necessarily better, but they are fun. As long as I've been a solo bike rider I have also been a hacker. I've always thought that a well-stocked garage should contain one of each.

Incidentally, I hope MO will give a little more space to the hackers. There are a lot of us out there.

Three Wheels Much Better

I saw the Piaggio MP3 250 for the first time at the Milwaukee Auto Show last year. We weren't looking at bikes, but this one quickly caught my eye. We had seen a lot of scooters on a trip to Italy, but not like this. My wife thought it was wierd. I was dazzled.

I test rode it in October and bought one the same day. Having not been on two-wheels in 20 years (and only a Honda Aero 80 at the time) was no problem. It handled very well in the test drive and was everything the reviews said it was.

The stares. Man, does it turn people's heads. It is really hard to look like you don't notice. Universally, people are impressed. Even my wife has "turned." I bought her a matching helmet and she took to the back seat instantly, if not to the top speed yet. She would rather drive a Vespa. Fine by me. ;-)

Now if the snow would just stop flying...:p
