I've had my '06 FZ for a year and a half now. The bike really came alive with a PCIII, opening up the airbox, adding a BMC filter and an Akra exhaust. Dyno charts over at Yamaha FZ1 Owners Association (FZ1OA) such a setup typically puts out around 145 to 150 hp. Post mods, the FZ has a wonderful motor. Pretty neat to have a comfy sharp handling bike with no compromise power.

The FZ is not perfect out of the box, but with a little work, it is a fantastic motorcycle.

Aren't all those modifications illegal? :wink:

Not if he's only using it at the Track! :-o

I'm tempted, periodically, to upgrade the Tuono. However, since I have yet to do a single track day and already find myself creeping up towards the three digit mark on an empty highway it's hard to convince myself that it's a good idea. There's a nice fuel map, airbox, akro exhaust package offered by my local dealership for about $1k
