As a the past owner of a 2004 Burgman 400 and a new 400 2007, I feel this was a very good article. What Suzuki wanted to make was a very practical form of transportation you can use as regularly as you would a four wheeler. I have literally used my four wheeler only twice in the last two months. I insure my burgman as my primary vehicle ( $18 / month insurance). I use the 400 instead because 1) Its a bike and makes travel an experience not an unnecessary evil. 2) Here in an area of flatter ground than SF california, I'm getting an average of about 63 MPG and my highest for a tank was about 70 MPG. 3) It meets all my transportation needs from grocery shopping, going to work, and enjoying the great outdoors. The improvements they made were significant and I can not think of anything I wish they had left alone. I thought the older style was great... why mess with it.. Well they improved it... Good job Suzuki. I know these are not for everyone. But they do an excellent job for what they are designed for. I had a 2000 honda goldwing. It was a great bike. I put 12,000+ miles on it from March to November when I sold it. Why did I sell it? It was not practical for 99% of my transportation needs. With the Burgman, it is pure and practical riding fun. All the pluses and few minuses. It is a great bike for city and highway riding. 250 miles to my sister's in Detroit is a breeze. It's not a crotch rocket or an artistic masterpice of chrome and style, but anyone who is blind to the new niche that " super scooters" have created may just be missing the ride that is just right for them.

Thanks, Tom, for confirming the test report. I'm considering giving up my Ford Focus SVT and replacing it with a scooter. The B400 would seem to cover all my needs and a little more. Happy Holidays,
