Post Vulcan EN500 vs CB500

So i know im comparing two very different bikes but heres the deal

I have heard much praise about the cb500 but i much rather have a cruiser. I cant get a larger motorcycle as i am restricted by money and my a2 license (i already have to restrict both of these once i get the one i decide on)

I need my bike for everyday use, i dont have a car.

i wanted to see what you more expirienced rider have to say. The number one most important thing is reliabilty as it is going to be my only form of trasportation. I really want to hear that they are both very reliable and easily maintained so that i can buy the vulcan. i prefer the way it looks and sounds. The cb500 is ugly but if its a better bike for what i need its what ill be getting, if the different isnt worlds apart i will still go for the vulcan.

The vulcan is from 1997, 70,000 miles on it
The cb500 is from 2000, 30,000 miles on it

I need general knowledge about the realibilty and what not

Hit me with whatever you have to say

This is my first own bike
