Squids

Didn't want to laugh but couldn't help it. Hope this isn't the future of motorcycling. You know, 'cause all the young guys only buy sportbikes and soon cruisers will be a thing of the past.

Well, so long as no-one was hurt.....

Typical.

I think someone lost an eye.

Kinda neat how that giant raspberry appears on the back of the guy with the blue shirt after his first surface rotation.

Who needs a mesh jacket with armor anyway?

Pretty aware riding by the cameraman. Squids and sport bikes. They make such an efficient case for Darwin's theories. Cruisers are a dime a dozen and full on sport bikes are actually rather rare around here. Maybe the squid herd is thinning.

Fast super standards are the future of motorcycling. Triumph Speed Trips, Ninja 1000s, Duc Monsters and Motards, FZ1s, CB1000Rs Dale Walkerized Bandit 12s for everybody. It would be a minimally plastisized, upright, practical and yet very fast future. Yes, my tongue is firmly in cheek to prevent Internet based confusion as my dream will never happen.

Not a sport bike squid and far more individual than the overwhelmingly prevalent cruiser crowd. Just a guy on a practical sit up and yet very fast and good handling bike that has a handlebar instead of clip ons, living in the desert in between the sport bike and the cruiser. The road far less traveled, that is always gonna be the one for me...

Nice tuck-n-roll by the guy who highsided himself so that his bike would form a barrier for his fallen comarade... Those sportbike guys really stick together

Wow. Lucky Squids. I have seen this behavior on roads around here, especially when it's sunny. Usually on the 167 Freeway with guys wearing only helmets, tank tops, shorts, and sneakers. The WA state troopers usually get them via the traffic cams. Dumb Squids :) The rain keeps the riff raff off of my favorite roads most of the time. Been riding with some cruiser guys lately would like to sell my Ninja for a used V-Rod. Daughters are so expensive.

OK, I don't know who the wise guy is at MO, but that's not funny.

OK, it's a little funny (especially the rain part), but still... not funny.

Yes, I have 2 daughters myself. If not for college, I could deal. The cost of college for them guarantees I will be on my current paid for ride for the foreseeable future. Have enough saved for half at a state school in a 529 plan, and I don't do debt for myself and certainly not for my kids. They will have to do the rest on their own, and that is that.

Older daughter (15 y/o) is pulling straight A's in her Freshman year in HS after Daddy laid out the facts of life to her (Mom and Dad are not poor, but not rich either, see 50% offer above). She is pretty motivated :)

Sky high college tuition is a crime against the middle class as far as I am concerned. Really wondering if the cost/benefit ratio is there anymore. It certainly depends on the degree obtained, now more than ever. Go be a petro engineer young lady...

Amazing these things happen on superior motorcycles that are overbuilt for the street.
