Like HD's "Dark Custom," the new version of the Gold Wing, etc. ad nauseum.

Thx, Seru, for saving me the research for edumacating! That's the era used for the basis of the new CB11. I actually prefer the black motor. YMMV...

There's some really nice shots of the hardware in there, and I like the design sketches etc. too.

Because it's not electric.
I went to Riva today and put down a deposit on a CB1100 ABS. It'll be here 3/15. It's going to be a really long 5 weeks! Anybody want to buy a really well-maintained VStrom 1000?

I think you made a good choice. Good luck. I did see a Brammo on the road today stopped at an intersection coming from the Ortega Highway. It's the first time I've seen one on the road.

One of these with a simple bolt on screen would be perfect for general riding around. Funny how they discuss the feel of an air cooled engine. The air cooled I4 bikes I have ridden (old GPZs, GS1000, GSXR1100 engine feel is different, cool and "rustly". Air cooled bikes have more "garage appeal" too, they are more approachable somehow.
An old Kawi ZRX is worthy of consideration if after this experience too. I suspect the ZRX has similar "easy" power, just considerably more of it, but without the air cooled rustle. Would be interesting to ride them around back to back and see how they "feel" as the feel is the thing with this kind of bike. My current ride is funny. It is comfy and upright, steers lightly and has smooth power at low and middle rpm. The incongruent thing is the quick revving monster top end hit. From 7 to 12K it does a fine R1 impression. I guess I am still young enough to totally dig that. Would probably be willing to lose 20hp off the top though, and spread it around below 7K. Then again, maybe not. The Bandit 1250 I rode left me a little cold. Don't mind me. I dunno what I want. Well I do know actually - multiple bikes in the garage. A new CB in red would be cool, Type I please ![]() Last edited by Duken4evr : 02-06-2013 at 04:27 PM. |
