It's been suggested on the VStrom forums that if Suzuki updates the Vee, it won't be sold here. Apparently the 1000 is much more popular in EU than it is here. OTH, Suzuki can't make 650's fast enough; people are complaining they can't locate them in the dealerships.

It's possible. That was the case with Kawasaki's Versys 1000 which is available overseas but not in the U.S.

On the other hand, the U.S. was one of the few markets where the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 was even available as a 2012 model. Key European markets such as the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany only had the 650 last year, if I recall correctly.

I noticed that Suzuki is celebrating their millionth GSXR. Wow, that really boggles the mind. I wonder what percentage of them are still out there.

If one million GSXRs were parked side by side...

The Suzuki dealer here complains that he could sell 100 DR200s and a lot more DR650s and DRZ400s each year. But Suzuki refuses to send him more than a few each year and they are all sold in about a week. One wonders what makes a company give up so many sales.
