Default New Motorsikkle...

Got me another one o' them Har' Davisons Friday. Got rid of that Nazi crap pile and got a REAL motorsikkle by Gar'.. an '09 Heritage Softail to be precise with 4900 miles on it. All stock-unmolested, nice and quiet, smooth as silk with the 96B motor......So far so good!

BTW, heard on Motorcyclist radio that Harley-Davidson - the company whose failure is inevitable because of its short-sighted reliance on an increasingly geriatric customer base - is the #1 motorcycle manufacturer in sales to the 18-to-34 demographic.

The main reason is the Dark Custom series - the loudly criticized parts-bin-swapping "engineering" that's dooming the Motor Company to irrelevant oblivion. Or so I hear.

We knew you could never escape the Dark Side. Now you're stuck in 64hp-ville.

BTW, plenty of skull-accessories available on line to go with the Sons of Anarchy derby covers and nazi-beanie.

Heh heh. Anyone who's been to a Harley shop would know what BS the predicted failure of HD was. Plenty of young guys checking them out. Why? Because the chicks dig them is one major reason.

Why should I care what the ***** thinks? She'll sit her ass on the back, and LIKE it no-matter WHAT ****in' bike I'm riding. And the Beer better damn-well be OPEN when she brings it, or Ima show her what her teeth look like scattered-across the floor....

Forgive me if my memory is bad, but didn't you get rid of a lame-o Hardley Davidson so you could buy a precision-engineered slab of Barvarian Motorwerks? Are you a motorcycle manic-depressive?

Seriously, congrats on the new bike. I've always thought the Heritage exemplifies the classic Harley; leather bags with rivets and conchos, big tractor saddles, endless chrome doo-dads; all the things that are at the core of the HD "it's more than a motorcycle, it's a lifestyle" statement.

Any new skin art on the agenda now?

Sarnali must be single again.

He'll buy another nerd bike once he thinks he's got the new one under control.

Gonna slap some open pipes on that thing without resetting the FI and lose 10 hp through the midrange like everyone else? Gotta fit in you know.

Just teasing. Congrats on the new chick magnet, uh, I mean bike!

Gentlemen gentlemen...jealousy is such an ugly emotion. To answer your questions:

Pics?? look at my avatar.

Skull collection/Nazi/Sons of a narky looking crap?? why yes I have the entire range on order as we speak.....(snork)...bwaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha.... (ahem)...Um, No. I don't regale myself or my bike with Nazi/SS/TV show garbage, though I do have a genuine Wehrmacht Eagle I got from somewhere.

Single again?? no actually part of the reason I bought the Softie was because it was more comfortable for my squeeze than the Beemer..

Tats?? I have a few, don't need or want anymore thank you...

Pipes/download/air cleaner??, No I like quiet bikes and Harley Davidson thoughtfully installed a perfectly adequate muffler on my bike when they built it..

Other than that it's a fun bike and a good deal all around, the vasoline tax is on the other....um.... well, the market has turned against dealers for now. Kinda' funny to see them willing to horse trade. A big difference to the old "There's the bike, there's the price" days. Still lot's of traffic in the store though.
