Thanks for the review, Tor. I imagine the suspension could be improved with a few well chosen bits, don't you think?

I've always been intrigued by these big scoots but have never pulled the trigger on one. Probably because by the time you get to this power level in a two wheeler it might as well be a motorcycle and not a cvt scooter.

For a city machine I'm considering the new Piaggio BV350. It's not quite a maxi but has decent power and all of the practical scooter attributes.

It's really heavy. The suspension sucks. There's no protection from the fairing and windscreen. Storage is minimal. But it has a big motor.

Ok...if you say so.

Scooter Concept
I admit I have tossed around the idea of a scooter for making small errand runs. This offering falls short of what I envision.

So it is smoother and faster than the BMW scooter.
But is it better?
Is it better than the Mana 850?
Given the choice of better suspension and handling over more motor, I pick the former every time.

I agree, Huss. Many of us, myself included, need to upgrade the suspension to be really happy with our chosen bike. I go about 240 pounds in full gear, so the standard suspenders on most bikes just don't cut it for me.

I'd like to ride one of these new Aprilia's to see just what Tor is talking about.

Might as well take it all the way and ride a Gold Wing. That is the biggest "scooter" out there.

Wondering if the CVT trans is non negotiable for scooters. Seems like a manumatic with paddle shifters would be cool. I guess the cost would just be too much though. To be honest, I hate droning CVTs in any vehicle. Just hate them.

I can't remember if the Burgman 650 has a manual shift mode or not. I know the Aprilia Mana does; seven speed sequential if you desire.
