What would be really neat is if they had a suit that blew up like a giant air-bag. So you look like the Sta-Puft Marshmellow Man, or maybe the Michelin Man. Then you'd just bounce around like a Super Ball, fly up in the air, ricochet off a car or two, finally rolling to halt 3/4 of a mile away.

Along those lines, how about filling a massive air bladder with helium so you'd just float above the accident. Not sure how you'd get down, but...

Ejection seats. They're the real solution.

Say you're going about 50, and a semi pulls out right in front of you. Do you "lay 'er down?" Oh hell no. You pull the trigger on your Martin-Baker ACES II Advanced Concept Ejection System and hang on as the solid rocket propellent blasts you to over 1,200 feet into the air. As you drift down on your chute, you get a bird's-eye view of the carnage below, as your now riderless motorcycle careens into a schoolyard, maiming and killing innocent schoolkids.

DUI arrest? Never again. You know you're two or three drinks over the limit. Blue lights in the rear-view. Wait for it...wait...just as he's pulling up on your six, BAM! You're outta there, leaving the cops choking on a cloud of ammonium-nitrate and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene.

Until these motorcycle manufacturers start doing some innovative thinking, we're all stuck wrapping ourselves in plastic armor and balloons to survive out there. When will they get the big picture?
