I'll have to program the DVR before we head to Grandma's.

Man, picking a "winner" out of that pack of BFU bikes must have been nauseating. I'd have picked JJ's just because it's the least absurd of the three turds.
I honestly aren't as derisive about these bikes than some of you. They're built to stand out on TV before an audience that mostly doesn't understand motorcycles. It's art on wheels, not a MO-style, ride-'em-hard shootout to determine ergonomics and fuel mileage. Comfort and practicality have nothing to do with it. To that end, I thought each machine was entertaining in its own ways. As Sr. likes to say, "It is what it is..."

Thanks to the miracle of digital recording, I caught the show with my kid on the DVR last night. Mr. Duke did a fine job, although he didn't pick the same bike I did as best. I would have picked JJ's bike because it was the only one that could be ridden further than from the back of the stage to the front. Hell, Sr.'s contraption isn't even a motorcycle; not by any stretch of the imagination.

The host was an annoying putz. He spent most of his time trying to stir up a fight between the three contestants. "Did you hear what Jesse James said about your bike, Paul? Are you going to let him get away with that?" I really think he was disappointed when they didn't break into a fight.

That's why I never watch "biker" shows, between the usual thrash metal noise soundtrack, chest pounding and "we're all missunderstood " angst it's enough to make a dog puke.

I love homebuilt choppers and bobbers and I belive JJ has some real metal working skills but this kind of stuff really isn't my cuppa' tea.

I know what you mean and agree, but drama makes good TV for a general audience. Remember, Chopper's main viewers aren't die-hard motorcyclists.

So true. Like Amos and Andy's listeners weren't die-hard civil rights activists - the colorful hijinx made for good radio.

Default antlers

if that's what it takes to win, I guess I just don't get it anymore. Antlers, the winner had freaking antlers, was built out of a catalog and not worthy of being called a build off, it was an assemble job with freaking antlers. Won't even comment on Senior's POS, it was not a bike. Jesse, he built his, by hand, like a bike build off is supposed to be. If this is your first effort sponsoring, sorry, FAIL.

Yeah, you remember, the P-51 themed antlers. They were sticking out of the handlebars.

Or was that on that other show?
