Any idea how sales of this class of bikes compares to the full-on supersport 650s? Judging from what I see on the market day to day, it looks like they sell a LOT of these.

Kawasaki didn't quote any sales figures and MIC numbers aren't readily available, but it's possible that these type sportbikes outsell supersport models.

Tom's points highlight the difficulty of providing accurate figures. My mildly educated opinion is that supersport 600s were definitely outselling sporty bikes like the Ninja 650/SV650 by a wide margin for years. But sales of SS 600s have fallen off a cliff in the past couple of years, so I bet the gap has closed.

Could be the perfect bike
 

Loved the first gen ninja 650 I had and am wanting the new one. Why does Kawasaki not put passenger grab rails on this bike? They have it standard overseas. I would pay another hundred bucks to have them standard! I It looks like a totally different tail section then Europe this year so not even sure you can put grab bars on? Also would like a center stand but can't have it all I guess especially with the under bike exhaust. Overall though what a great all around motorcycle and it finally has a real seat.
