I can think of a certain inline 6 that could make the list as well.

Number 3 on the list is incomplete. Honda didn't stop the cam driven V4 express until the introduction of the 2002 VFR800 (Interceptor). Check it out on VFRD.

You heard one 6 you heard 'em all.

No one wants to remind us of the TZ750, The Devil's Chainsaw, because no one wants to remember how superior 2 strokes were as far as power to weight goes.

I've always like the Ducati. Best sounding bike I ever heard was a 916. Have no idea what pipes he was running but it was a thing of beauty visually and sounding.

2-Strokes Can Sound Good
 

I originally included the sound of 2-stroke MXers, specifically when climbing the face of a large triple jump under full throttle, but was outvoted on this being a truly enjoyable motorcycle sound. But, like we said, this is about as subjective as it gets and to each his own.

I've ridden an XR-75 and while the exhaust note is musical, the clatter from the valve-train of the air-cooled triple is kinda obnoxious because the tank/seat juncture above it is so skinny, it doesn't deflect the noise as much as other air-cooled bikes.
