195 crankshaft horsepower in a 400 lb sportbike...it boggles the mind.

Some of the motojournos were hyping the S1000RR as a "200 hp sportbike," but the real numbers were considerably lower. The rear-wheel output for the Finagle will be what, about 165?

I can't remeber the last time I was so enamored reading about engine details. I love twins and I like this engine so much I'd marry it.

That depends on how much it's worth to you.

You can finagle a few more with a Termi pipe for a low low price.

A chain-driven bike will lose about 10% by the time power gets to the rear wheel. So, if the 195 horses is accurate, expect 175 hp on a rear-wheel dyno. However, the Diavel is rated at 160 hp, but it cranks out only about 130 hp at wheel.

Gotta love a big sport twin spinning high rpm. Nothing sounds or feels like it. I do miss setting off every car alarm in range with the old TL1000.

If Japan wants to copy stuff, they need to copy this. Even a poor copy, like my TL was in it's day, can be pretty decent.

You Sir, are insulting the honor of my Vee. I'd say the Finagle engine is a poor copy of it...not the other way around. After all, those poor Italians couldn't even figure out how to put the cam chains inside the engine...they had to hang them off the sides like an old leather-belt driven factory press. They finally gave up and went back to gears and mousetraps to actuate the "valvaleros."
