Ballast-resistors and diodes. Does/did your bike have LED brake lights and/or signal lights? Or perhaps, did the P.O. tow a trailer with it (or have saddlebags/topcase with LEDs)?
If so - that's why they were there - to keep the "flash" at a reasonable rate.
