Default Motorcycle Airbag 'Jacket'

Interesting design!

Not a 'gas-bag,' mind you...

This, from Design News Magazine:

That's retarded.

Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion.

Its.......A FACT!

Seems like they'd have more of a collar to stabilize the neck.

And, maybe a drink-holder.

They need to inflate the thing with "Flubber." Then the hapless victim can just bounce harmlessly away, hundreds of feet into the air.

It might be good for Florida though. Everybody here drives around dreading the deadly thunderstorms that cover the road with so much water you drive straight into a deep canal and drown. As long as you have a lanyard to pop the thing open, you need never fear.

Nope, it's still retarded.

One big problem is the added futz-factor. You have to carry it around, you suffer even more with the heat, it hides your cool patches, etc.

And after all that, it serves mainly for frontal impacts.

And Ken - you're going to give it a complex. Let's say, "Enlightened Design-impaired."

I will say I like this general concept better than seat belts and airbags for bikes. Which the yahoos at BMW are busy working on. Or worse still that stupid "egg" compartment they want to stuff riders into.
