It's a shame too because the Gladius is a pretty nice bike, not that I've ever ridden one.

I did hold a Spatha once though, a real deal 2000 year old Spatha....I'm so sick I got wood..probably belonged to one of my ancestors..

Fun Facts to Know and Tell!

Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion.

Its.......A FACT!

I ride a Ducati Monster. The Gladius is a cheap plastic wanna-be. Even my friend, a Suzuki salesman, is embarrased to have it on his showroom floor.
Your friends ashamed to have a capable, affordable and beginner friendly motorcycle on his showroom floor?? Not everyone has ducati bucks to spend.

I think with some new paint schemes the SFV650 (the name I would use if I owned it) would draw more attention and be taken more seriously as a capable replacement for the sv650.

In what ways is the sv better than the glad besides fuel range?

Aluminum frame instead of steel; more ground clearance; less weight; better seat; and, IMO, a nicer, sportier appearance, especially with the flyscreen on the later SV nakeds. The Gladius only offers styling as a possible advantage, and that's a debatable point. I hope they're selling well in Europe, cuz I don't see many 'round here.
