It's a shame too because the Gladius is a pretty nice bike, not that I've ever ridden one.
I did hold a Spatha once though, a real deal 2000 year old Spatha....I'm so sick I got wood..probably belonged to one of my ancestors..

Aluminum frame instead of steel; more ground clearance; less weight; better seat; and, IMO, a nicer, sportier appearance, especially with the flyscreen on the later SV nakeds. The Gladius only offers styling as a possible advantage, and that's a debatable point. I hope they're selling well in Europe, cuz I don't see many 'round here.
