"The Sikorsky Prize has not yet been awarded. It will be awarded to the first entry to reach an altitude of 3 meters (10 feet) during a flight lasting at least 60 seconds, while remaining in a 10 meter square (32.8 foot square)."

Yes, that's right. Sorry I left that part out. Neal's human-powered helicopter hopped off the ground and hovered briefly, but it was not enough to meet the criteria.

I wonder if anyone is working on a human-powered motorcycle? That would be really cool!

Kevin, I have sitting right here in my garage a EPA approved two stroke of 80cc's driving a 900 watt generator. It weighs 36 lbs, and will run at 85% power for five hours on a gallon of premix.
The whole unit dims out to 12x12x14 inches. Stick that baby in a Zero, wire it up and get some REAL range out of them thar batteries.

BTW, is that engine you refer to EPA-approved for motor vehicles? I think there are different EPA standards depending on the application. |

Well there you go...that damn government, crushing free enterprise and ruining jobs in America. It's a wonder we can still take a **** in the woods.

The AP crosses through town in a few places arround here. One (very nice) restruant actually put up a sign demanding clenliness & disallowing luggage (backpacks) in the restruant. They still let the scootertrash in though.
