Easier said than done. E10 is all thats availible from any major city and surrounding areas.

Go to Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada and click on the state of your choice to find pure gas, as in NO Ethanol. Missouri has quite a few, and in fact I've stopped at a few of them.

I know about that site, I think Ethanol in gas is Stupid, a Law Requiring it is the very height of Idiocy, and I've actively lobbied my Local, State, and National Congress-critters against it.

Airhawk, I don't think the MO stations that offer pure gas are breaking the law because there is no federal requirement for ethanol to be in gasoline.

If you want ethanol free gas you have to convince your local gas station to provide it. They can order it just as easily as E-10. It costs about a dime more per gallon but it's worth it. Better fuel mileage, etcetera.

The stations listed on that site are likely selling the fuel "Not for use as a motor fuel", meaning it's not supposed to be used on the road.

The EPA mandates what fuel is sold for "motoring" in all 50 states, and, yes, they require the ethanol as an oxygenating agent, since the previous chemical was found to be lethal, and leached into drinking water supplies.

Notably absent on that list is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MA has mandated motor fuels for all vehicles, not just road-going ones.

If the marinas on the list sell you ethanol-free gasoline, and they know it is going in your road-going motorcycle, then they are, indeed, in violation of a federal mandate.

pplasm, I have filled up at more than a couple of these places in MO, IL, and AR and none of them have a "Not for use as a motor fuel" placard anywhere on the pump.

In fact many of the stations in AR and MO have big signs facing the road advertising ETHANOL FREE GAS. So I can't see how it is illegal in any way. If it were they wouldn't be advertising it in the manner they do. And it's been this way for years, so if it were illegal they would have been busted by now, don't ya think?
