Ah you're all nuts, it's luck, and luck alone.

I rode for 20 years without wearing a helmet, only wore one on long trips or out of state runs. Or in the dirt.

And I've bounced my head off a few curbs too, resulting in scrambled thinking for a few months.

Now, being an old fart I wouldn't think of riding a street bike without a helmet. My Arai saved my life in '06. And I wear one in my gas powered wheelchair.

You pays your money, you takes your chances.

3-D applications are great since you don't need to worry about comfort, wind buffering, noise, vision, or durability. In fact, I just print out my helmet and tape it to the back of my head.
