2010 Ducati Multistrada - $7,430

I was browsing CycleTrader today and came across this: 2010 DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1200 S for sale in Miami, Florida - CycleTrader.com Wow, that's a hell of a deal; half price or less! So I called the shop and asked how many miles (thinking it had to be super-high). 4,500 miles. WOW! Then the guy on the phone said "it's only for export." WTF? Somebody in Mexico can buy it for that price, but I can't? Does anybody know anything about this? Is the price differential taxes and import duties that they avoid by selling overseas? Non EPA compliance, perhaps? If there is a huge price delta simply due to the cost of importing the bike into the US, it's a hell of a premium.

Why didn't you just ask the dude Kenneth?
I wonder if it was perhaps shipped over from Italy as a demo and doesn't have US emissions and/or other equipment on it. Or since it's FL, most likely the cocaine deal. |

It was probably a Canadian import. The conversion cost probably isn't worth it. Too may hoops to jump through for a few hundred in profit.
