Default VIN check other than Carfax?

Has anyone tried motorcycle vin checker | motorbike history | vin number lookup ?

I looked at their site and it seems legit but I just want to make sure before I move forward with it. It's only $25 and it could definitely save me thousands but I don't want to throw money away either.

I tried carfax and it does not recognize my VIN...

I'd really like an online way to check for a stolen vehicle. I run into "undocumented" bikes all the time.

I've had very unsatisfactory results from CarFax, as it reflects only what events were put into the system. And there is no way to control what that/those are.

And that is for cars, which is a much bigger enterprise, obviously. I doubt most bike dealers or shops even know about a "BikeFax" system.

Carfax is an unreliable source really. If a car (or any vehicle) is damaged and repaired without the assistance of insurance then it's not reported as a repair. Rental companies, dealers, fleet cars and private owners that repair cars out of pocket make Carfax is useless.

Default Did it!

Well, I went ahead and took the plunge and bought a report from Cyclevin, and I can assure you I am NOT buying this bike. It came back as stolen in another state (I am in TX) and I should have figured the guy was acting kinda shady too.

So to your point pplassm, this seems like a resource for stolen bikes.

No "probably" about it.
