Sounds like another impressive offering from Team Green!
I like that manufacturers are starting to integrate adjustability in their sport bikes. Buell offered adjustable foot controls on the 1125. BMW offers significant measure of custom fit. Now, Kawasaki recognizes that all sport bike riders do not come in stock 5'8" trim. Thank you! Kev, is there a purpose for the RAM-air LEDs or are they just for added cool factor?

That's quite a good write-up, Mr. Duke. Lots of interesting details:
Ti headers 22 lbs off the bike Mass centralization theme And LED positioning lamps? Whazzat, for the guys with the long flashlights who guide you in to your parking spot at the Burger Barn? I didn't see the engine's HP and torque numbers, did I miss them? There's no doubt in my mind that Kawi had to step up to the BMW bar, and this bike goes toward that end.

Glad to hear you guys appreciate the depth of info about the ZX! Guys like you make me want to work hard and deliver better product.
Kawi didn't release power figures for the bike, but it appears sound regulations will keep the Ninja from achieving BMW levels of hp. Some OEMs have privately questioned whether the S1000 indeed meets those regs... Oh, and the LED position lamps are mostly just for the cool factor. |

Mid way through thearticle you have a pic of a pointy nosed sport bike. While it is indeed a Kawasaki, has a 1000cc I-4, and is a sport bike it's not the zx-10. It's the new ninja 1000.
Don't feel too bad though, if you look at Kawasaki's U.S. website the thumbnail pic for the new ninja 1000 is auctually last years zx-10. Whoops. |
