2010 Road King, this thing is but another case of a company out of ideas so they have to borrow some other companies heritage to make their "own". Come on Kawasaki, you can do better (and do) than cloning.

I hope it comes with better saddlebag lids than the Nomad. I looked at one of those in the showroom and could not get the lids to close because they didn't line up and they were kind of flimsy.

Sure just about everyone (including Harley) has jumped on the blacked out sport fairing bagger theme by now. But what sets the Vulcan apart I think is that it does it for $16,500 without sacrificing standard features, reliablilty, or performance. Brand loyalists my scoff but I think the Vaquero will appeal to the new bike buyer on a budget that is looking for the best value for the $.

You have actual evidence that other brands "sacrifice reliability or performance or standard features"? I'd like to see it. $16.5K is no bargain.

I would rather have a liquid-cooled bike than an air-cooled one. So I actually prefer this Kawi over the Harley. I don't really care about the "clone" argument. That said, I'm looking at an air-cooled 2004 V-Star 1100 this weekend, simply because the price is so good. Now that I'm not putting bikes on credit anymore, Harleys are out of my price range.

If you could find a V-Star 950 in your price range, that's a more modern and nicer-looking bike than the 1100, IMO.
