i have a great all around naked street fighter sport bike. it is a snap to tinker with and has over 125 RWHP. it gets 40 plus MPG and handles almost as good as a super sport. it is called a kawasaki Z 1000. mine is a 2004. the new 2010 is selling very well in the USA thank you. the yamaha looks like a nice bike but 800 cc is to small for me.

For $1.5k more you could get the new Z. About a third more HP and probably 20 or less more lbs.

Good point! I wonder what the difference in long-term maintenance costs and reliability are between these two models. Either way, the are both kick-@ss bikes!

Nice bike. I especially like the upside down forks. It wouldn't look bad next to my Z750S. It would be nice if they made these bikes a bit lighter.

Do you think Yamaha would give me a good trade-in deal on a well-used 1st-year FZ6?
Only dropped once. Hardly raced. Seldom wheelied.....

I'm with you on this. I'd get a Z (or FZ1) too, but then I like too much power. My daily ride is a first gen R1 and I'm okay with the ergos as well, so what do I know about sensible street bikes? ![]() (btw, we'll start a Z1000 hop-up project soon. That ought to be fun. This said, the FZ8 ought to still be a valid choice, and based on Euro reviews, and what we can see of the spec sheet, it appears it is. |

Test it against the Street TripleR and I'll get back with you. Does look nice.

If they keep making these bikes more and more compact I'll be stuck riding Harley's before you know it.
