It looks like a good bike to tour on with a close personal friend. I like it and I'm not even a Harley guy.

And I'd have no problem with it specially when I barely have to touch the throttle to motor by just about anything. (with my American flag paint scheme)

Just as I have no problem motoring past my buddy's 2006 GL-1800...

Performance is relative. People don't buy Harleys for their performance.

I test rode one of these before I settled on my current GS, hell of a nice bike, comfy with plenty of power, lot's of usefull features, the only problem was the price. The local dealer tried adding a vasoline tax which was an insult so I politely declined and went Beemer shopping instead.

Sometimes what people really need is a visual aide. You should ride up to the H-D dealer, rev your BMW engine (vroom-vroom), sneer at him and then say "Beemer!", as you peel away in a cloud of smoke.

That'd be sweet!
