My 81 year old mother rarely drives her Buick and it's battery kept dying. Got her a new battery and one of these, problem solved. Really. I am not kidding :)
Anyway, this is a very well made unit and seems to be the best out there. I have had Battery Tenders on my bikes for years. The '02 DRZ400 is my science experiment as it is still on it's OEM battery. Almost 9 years later and it still cranks just fine. How long can it go...
While you can desulphate batteries the fact that the battery was sulphated means that lead is lost from the plates. So the battery's capacity will be diminished. In modern EFI systems the condition of that battery is highly critical. I'd buy a new battery rather than rejuvenate an old one and just get stranded again.
For carbed bikes rejuvenating a battery might be effective. Best is to use a tender in the first place.
