On doing a bit of reading up - it really is a legal term in Australia! You can be done for hooning.

I've got a feeling that it is an old English word though - as I'm sure my old grandmother used it to describe going fast on her 8hp Enfield back in the '20's....

You ain't nothin but a Hoon, Dawg....cryin all the time...

I'm assuming "Hoon" is considered a noun and thus capitalized? ...."Dawg" of course in this context names a person place or thing (IE Ken ) and I feel would also be capitalized...Do correct me if I'm wrong, Voyager.... picking the fly-sh*t out of the pepper seems to be your forte`...

You "can be done for hooning?"

I've been done for love, and I've been done for money, but I've never been done for hooning. Maybe I should consider moving...I like riding a LOT more than working...at a job or a relationship.

It's not as bad as those French people. They have a different word for EVERYTHING.

It's all Greek to me (although the French for everything is 'tous')

LOL

I've been tempted once or twice already .. Looks like I'll have to be patient.

As a newb to this forum I congratulate various posters for their lively and entertaining contributions, which will keep me coming back. You rise to the standard of certain other forums that I frequent - bravo! Not to mention the educational value - heck I didn't even know what 'squid' (let alone 'hooning') meant. Can that be a verb or a noun btw?

Is there a motorcycle lexicon somewhere for old farts like me?

Carry on chaps ......

*munch munch*
