Agreed. The VMax engine is one sweet MC engine, and spins up impressively, so you'd never guess its displacement was pushing 1.7 liters. The R3's 2.3 liter powerplant, and 6k redline is suitable for a small car. We were going to drag strip test them, but ran into logistical and timing snafus. This said, the Max is way more intense, and my money's on it winning a quarter mile by a large margin. |

In terms of acceleration, it's not even close. According to Cycle World...
The Rocket does the quarter-mile in 11.48 seconds at just 115 mph. The Max does it in 10.11 secs at a much loftier 137 mph. Mr. Max needs just 2.5 secs to get to 60 mph; 3.3 for the Rocket. Different strokes, literally. ![]() |
