I have a chance to buy one with 23k miles on it. It's all there, I rode it; it ran well for the most part. It looks tired, the chain and sprockets are shot. Good tires, working brakes. Didn't have a chance to see what the suspension was like, but I assume it's untouched since 23 years ago.
Anybody ever have one of these, then or since?

I had an '86 ZX1000R Ninja for a number of years. If it's stock it should be a pretty bulletproof bike. A chain and sprocket set shouldn't set you back more than a couple of hundred bucks total, I used Vortex Sprockets and D.I.D. O ring chains on my Bandit and Trophy, they held up well. A change of fluid and maybe some Progressive springs will bring the forks back to life. There's probably a rear shock available for it.....
I wouldn't pay much for it but they're decent bikes if they haven't been butchered.

What's going on with your resto, anyway? How's that thing coming along?

I've been busy getting settled in the new Casa de Klazy...we moved in November. But, I just finished the 2ond to last "must do" project. I've got a fence to rebuild in the backyard, at that point I'm done. I'll get back on the Yamaha in about 2 weeks.
