Where I used to live I had a nice long straight on the way home & I'd crack 80-100 everytime, then one day noticed I was asking for trouble. I dont think Ive had the big bike over a buck, may have to do that tomorrow.

12 or so years ago I was riding with a group on the Vulcan 800 they were all on sportbikes, long stretch up by Va Tech and I had my speedo buried at 120 on the incline & kept it wide open all the way down the other side, when we stoped one of them said last he looked down he saw 155. I dont think an 800 twin would hit 150+ but I bet I had it wide open downhill for a mile after I had it buried. Later to find out my tires were only rated for like 90MPH. Crazy days indeed.

I thought you meant you did a buck fitty also not went 150 miles. 44 is pretty nippy out too and ducking rain storms.....you going to move to Seattle next?

Nice to get out thought huh? I go stir crazy if I can't ride at least every few days. I don't know how these snowbirds handle the months on end of no riding....must be tough

"I dont think an 800 twin would hit 150+..."

It wasn't even hitting the 120 on the speedo, believe me.

Man, ain't that the truth. Anytime I feel the need for speed, I just use the bike to commute to work. The HOV lane is WFO...even the cops are doing 90....

I forgot about the kooky conversation I had. I pulled off 8 to add some warmer clothing prior to hitting the mountains. This guy in a truck pulls alongside and asks if my bike is a BMW.

"What is that, 1100, 1200."

It's 1300cc.

"What kind of mileage do you get?"

40-42

"Is that all? I gotta K75 that will get 47."

I really don't care about mileage.

"Too bad they can't gear it to get better mileage."

Have a nice day! I'm glad you're freakin 65hp 750cc 3 cylinder gets better mileage than a 150hp 1300cc 4 cylinder.

What are the chances this goof has a milk crate strapped on the back?
