Have you weighed the bike lately?

Corbin Seat
I've had a Corbin flat saddle on my 2001 KLR, since early 2001. I live in the area, so I did the build-while-you-wait at the Corbin shop in Hollister. In fact, they used my bike as their example on the website for several years. Short trips, long trips, on road, or off the seat has performed admirably. My longest days are around 500 miles and I've never experienced problems.
My seat fit well, and easily, from the very first. I added the welt and it's not had an adverse effect on comfort. The seat is much firmer than the stock, but that initial firmness is what enables one to ride on hour after hour. With nine years of riding the seat is just starting to show some scrubbing on the nose. Other than that it's pretty much as it was when I got it.

I have a nice comfortable heated corbin saddle with backrest on mine, I like it for the most part, but even with the adjustments all the way forward, I have to be bundled 4 layers to feel the backrest at all. I got some 1/8 foam sheeting and plan to pull the upholstery off it & try to thicken the pad a bit, just havent gotten arround to it yet. Its a frim rigid seat but really is great on the long days, but does show quite a bit of wear to only have 25K mikes on it. My factory kawasiki seat had 10 more years on it and more miles, only wear on that was a bit of fading (it was a plush seat not a firm seat). I have the factory seat for the Star and if I cant get the backrest to work better Ill use the origional seat in the warmer months and the heated one for the winter, if I can handle 4-500 mile days on it.

Thanks for the topical responses guys! Seruzawa, haven't weighed it recently, but I'll look into it soon, just for you! :)
