Didn't fall. Didn't finish last. Sounds like success to me.

Success = not falling. Finishing last = who cares unless this is my living.

Sounds like you had some fun out there Duke, and that's the whole thing in a nut.

Excellent!! While I'm sad you left some speed on the table during qualifying it sounds like Big Chief and Old Dusty did well. Incidentally, having been a reader for many years and a member for only the past few it was your articles on Buell Motorcycles that inspired me to become an owner. Thanks for the years of Buell coverage.

Great stuff, Kevin!
So many people talk about it -- you actually got out there and DID it. It's like putting it out there for everyone to see. It takes a big person to do that. Good job! (P.S. I tried to post up yesterday, but for some reason my computer wouldn't go to this forum page. ????) |

It's fantastic to hear from you guys about how you have enjoyed reading about this experience -thanks! The MO staff has been instructed to focus on bike tests almost exclusively, as those are the types of articles searched for most often. It's good to know that a feature story such as this is appreciated by our readers!

Kevin, I for one would like you to stop publishing the racing articles. Every time I read one, I start looking at the budget trying to figure out how to afford an SV650 and the kit required to go racing!
Seriously, it adds a lot to the site to have an editor in chief who is out on the track racing. Obviously not everyone who rides is in to racing, but like cars, boats, etc., racing is the leading (or bleeding) edge. It's all about credibility, for you, and the site, not only among the spectators and readers, but the industry people who participate as well. What are your plans for Daytona? Going to be on the track in March? Let me know; I can arrange accomodations for you in nearby Cocoa Beach.
